Female / Women Saints

The history of the Church is full of many female / women Catholic saints, who received recognition for great deeds or meritorious conduct. Many lost their lives in defense of the faith, while others were themselves the mothers of important saints. Many were also honored for their contributions to the Church and their community.

Reply:If your doing your confirmation and picking the name of a saint.. then you shouldn't be picking the name on how cool or unsual it is..

the best way is get a book about the saints or check out a website about the saints.. (there's plenty) and then read their story.. read what they were all about.. and then pick the name of the saint you most respect and admire.
Reply:jesus! Theres no way #2 got that all on her own!!!! thats a LOT of names
Reply:I knew a Talitha a few years back, I really thought it was a sassy name for being a biblical name.

Talitha-(Aramaic/Hebrew) Meaning: Maiden/Young Woman/Child (pronounced ta-LEE-tha)

Talitha~ Biblical reference to the resurrection of Jairus's daughter when Jesus said, "Child, arise."

Talitha Cumi

(Mark 5:41), a Syriac or Aramaic expression, meaning, "Little maid, arise." Peter, who was present when the miracle was wrought, recalled the actual words used by our Lord, and told them to Mark.

A variation of this name is:

Talia (Greek)-Meaning: dew from heaven, blooming, near water
Reply:I've always been drawn to Rita of Cascia the patroness of hopeless causes ...
