Why are american cars always named after exotic locales?

Chevy Bel Air, Biscayne, Dodge Aspen. Monte Carlo? is it the same reason white trash name their kids Amber? Trying to give garbage some class?

Why are american cars always named after exotic locales?
Brilliant observation. Always is exactly right. Places like Mustang, Corvette, Viper, PT Cruiser, Nitro, Chevelle. The list of such place names goes on and on.

Got to go now. Getting ready to take my family for a vacation to beautiful and exotic Camaro. If we leave early enough we may be able to make a side trip to Prowler. Always wanted to go there.
Reply:Hey look its Natalia's husband. Another Honda and Toyota lover, who cant answer a car question without plugging that stupid website.Hey Ben I just read in todays paper that Honda is expanding the recalls on the 2002-2003 Accords and possibly other years. Apparently the car rolls away and crashed when the key is pulled out of the ignition. It is failure of the ignition park-shift interlock. This problem so far has led to the recall of more than 1 million Honda and Acura cars! I dont think it matters what they name them, as long as they dont roll away after you get out. Oh my what great Honda quality!
Reply:would you buy it if it was called the chevy outhouse, or the ford garbage dump, it is all in marketing, would you buy a nissan ***** or a toyota prison
Reply:Well, the Buick Lacrosse is sold as the Buick Allure in Quebec because Lacrosse is Quebecois slang for "self stimulation"...
