What is your favorite exotic-sounding name?

I am writing a book, and I have gone to all the websites and everything, I just need a nice name for a shy, purple-eyed princess who is a real loner. Ideas please?

What is your favorite exotic-sounding name?
MICHALINA. THE "C" IS SILENT.

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BOOK. IF IT IS PUBLISHED, I WANT TO BUY IT

Reply:Using "jewel" names like Saphire, Jade and Amethyst are very common, especially when you get into fanfiction, which usually throws up a red flag immediately. I try to avoid them, personally.

I like the names:

Zeva (pronounced with a long E sound)

Violet (since she has purple eyes)

One of the best ways to come up with names for characters is to look back into history or even past myths, and alter them to how you see fit. Example: Freya, Aphrodite. Or even don't give the character a name yet, just write the story using either a friends name or your own and then go back and change it when you come across something that you see fits. Granted Exotic names are fun, but if it doesn't pull from your own imagination, then it's not going to flow properly in your story. So just lay down the name for now and just write.
Reply:Ameythyst sounds good. You should stick with that one.

Good luck :)
