Has particle physics become just an exercise in trying to remember exotic names?

Up, Down, Top, Bottom, Strange, Charmed Quarks, Baryons, Mesons, Kaons, Gluons, Leptons.. I think I have to go lie down for a while..

Has particle physics become just an exercise in trying to remember exotic names?
If you think it's bad now, it was worse before Gell-Mann organized everything and all the baryons and mesons were thought to be fundamental.

Now you can organize it all like that cool "fundamental particles and interactions" poster that everyone has.

6 quarks --udtbcs

6 leptons--e mu tau, and 3 associated neutrinos

4 electroweak bosons

3 massive --W+ W- and Z

1 massless--photon

8 gluons

1 graviton?

1 higgs?

and associated antiparticles

Is that so bad? Maybe at first. But memorizing stuff is by far the least painful aspect of particle physics--that would be quantum field theory.

And chemists memorize the periodic table--this is easier than that!
Reply:You forgot fermions and bosons, the two most popular ons! Should I make a joke about you not getting any Pion until you clean the Meson in your room? No, no I don't think I will. That would be terrible.
Reply:Particle Man......Particle Man

Particle Man hates Universe Man.

If they ever fight.....He always wins, Particle Man

Reply:Go ahead, lie down You have my permission. I'll watch the Quarks for a while.
Reply:you forgot axions and tachyons
