Reply:Are you intending to name your child something exotic. I only ask because I help out at the school and I have a few things I'd like to let parents know on the subject. Please take into consideration the burden you may be putting on your child. When you give a child a hard to decipher name, they end up having to correct people constantly. Every teacher they ever encounter will have to ask them to pronounce their name. These people spend their entire lives, pronouncing, correcting and spelling out their names for people.





Also when a name is spelled exotically it can cause confusion in financial and legal matters throughout their lives. I've a friend that has 9 aliases on her credit report, because banks, and credit card holders inevitably misspell her name. When she went to buy her last house, she had to sign her name 4 times to every page of the documentation to account for the a.k.a. lines that are required by law when you name has appeared on legal document and was misspelled. When she moved to a new state, she had to find 4 forms of I.D to prove her identity just to get a drivers license.





So if you ask me with everybody trying to be so original these days, the most exotic names are the simple ones
